Well, this was the first time I celebrated my birthday out of the US. My school was still in the process of getting my exact mailing address down so my family couldn’t even send me anything. But alas, in true Korean hospitality, the teachers at my school had a little birthday celebration for me in my classroom. It was a really warm gesture and I really appreciated it. I’ve only been in Korea about three months but have many examples of how the people here have proven they are a great bunch!
