Required qualifications for all applicants:

  • Be a native English speaker from America, Australia, Canada, England, and New Zealand (or other native English speaking countries).
  • University degree holder (Bachelor’s degree or higher).
  • Clean criminal record.
  • Be of sound mental and physical health.

The following documents will need to be prepared: 

  • A copy of your university degree with an apostille.
  • Valid criminal background check with an apostille.

**No teaching experience is required. A Bachelor’s degree in any discipline is acceptable**

Salary and Benefits:

  • Period of contract: One year (The E-2 visa allows for a stay of one year and is renewable).
  • Salary range: 2.1 – 2.5 million won per month (depending on experience and qualifications).
  • Teaching hours: 25 – 30 hours per week.
  • Overtime pay: 15,000 – 22,000 Korean won per hour.
  • Severance pay: One month’s salary.
  • Accommodations: Free, furnished, private apartment.
  • Airfare: Round-trip economy class ticket or one way ticket.
  • Medical insurance: National Healthcare is subsidized (approximately 2% of your salary).
  • Class sizes: Approximately 10-15 students.
  • Vacation: 10 days paid vacation.
  • Tax rate: 1.9 – 3.3%
  • Working days: Monday through Friday (sometimes Saturdays, depending on the role).
