  1. Hi. I am an english teacher in armenia.I am a graduate of apedagogical university specialized as an english teacher.is it possible for me to teach in south korea or in china.

  2. Hey,
I have a couple of questions about what is the best possible way to apply for a teaching job in Korea. I know that Epik is really popular but I want my chances of being accepted to be high. I know that right now, the market is really competitive so I thought about other ways to apply for a job.
I will be graduating in May(bachelors) and plan on doing my Celta/TEFL certification as soon as I graduate. And as soon as I’m done with that I want to be able to leave in August. What advice can you give me about time frames and applying, should I still apply through EPIK?
I would really appreciate your help.
    Thank you so much, Zaira.

  3. Hey,

I am from Germany, so it is not possible to teach in South Korea or China if you are not a native speaker? I heard, that in most cases it is actually enough to have a BA and to be fluent in english. That is, if you are from a European country. I guess that is not true then?

    Greetings from Germany.

  4. Hi, I was wondering, I look a lot on the internet about job positions as a Portuguese teacher, but I could not find any. I’m from Brazil and I like learning about other cultures and I thought that teaching in Korea would be a great opportunity. Is it possible to find a job there as a Portuguese teacher or do they only accept English teachers??

    • That’s a good question. I don’t know how much Portuguese is taught here in Korea but ‘d have to believe it’s being taught somewhere. Definitely not like English, but just keep at it and you’ll find something I’m sure.

  5. Hello! I am very interested to teach English in Korea. Currently, I am applying a Masters degree in Education, and I have BFA.

  6. Annyeonghaseyo! I am a Filipino willing to apply teacher in korean. I’m a fresh graduate with a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education. Is there any chance that I can teach there?

  7. Hi there,
I am in a unique situation and am looking for some answers. I am a Korean who immigrated to the United States at the age of 6. I can speak conversational Korean but am in no way fluent. My native language is definitely English, and I consider myself an American more so than a Korean. However, I am still a Korean citizen with a US permanent residency. My recruiter says that because of this it will be very hard to find a job prior to moving to Korea and since I don’t need to apply for a visa, I would have more success in just going over there and looking for a job rather than trying to get one before I move. Have you had any experience with Korean-Americans with a permanent residency rather than citizenship? I would appreciate any and all help!

    • I think what the recruiter told you is probably correct. In fact, it’s a very good thing. You can either take up a job or just tutor on your own since it won’t be illegal seeing that you’re a Korean citizen. If you do want to try to find a standard job, you’d probably need enough money to hold you over until you landed something. This would include rent, food, and things of that sort. If you have friends or family that you can stay with, that would make your life much easier. I would view this as a great situation because you have many more options than would anyone else going to Korea. Hope this helps.
